KT’s Take On 2023 – The Market, The Milestones and The Magic

The 2023 real estate journey was a tale of transformations for the market and for Peake and Peake Projects. With interest rates continuing the upward trend this year, we navigated the ebbs and flows and have seen some positive results in both sales and property management throughout the Peake business. Even though prices across the suburb of Berwick declined by a couple of percent over the 12-month period, and rental yields sat comfortably at around 3.5%, we saw record numbers of buyers attending open homes, and rental demand at an all-time high.
The year kicked off with the unveiling of our sleek, modern rebrand – nine months in the making, a labour of love that breathed new life into our identity.
Karen Worthington took centre stage in Sydney in February, crowned Support Star of the Year at the RER Awards. A moment of pride, her recognition was well-deserved, and her standing ovation could be heard all the way back in Berwick.
The month of March saw us escape to Phillip Island for the much-anticipated “Peake Performance” weekend. A company-wide retreat revealed not only our new branding to the team, but also unveiled the true meaning of teamwork, relaxation, and a healthy dose of fun. Shelby, Brix, Naomie and Leah emerged victorious in the scavenger hunt, earning bragging rights until next time.
As the seasons unfolded, and the real estate market saw some signs of improving, our team spared their valuable time cooking up a storm at Ronald McDonald House and walking the Cancer Council’s “Relay For Life” path – an intimate, yet powerful event that brings promise of hope for those touched by this terrible disease.
Beyond the routine inspections and open homes, our team celebrated life’s joys—the birth of Avie to Hannah, two more baby announcements from Tash and Jess, the union of Andrew and Jo added a touch of romance, 2 new grandmothers excitedly emerged in Sue and Marisa, and who can forget the crowning of our very own Peake Iron Man, Cameron. A year of growth, love, and personal bests.
We welcomed Shayla, Ally, Hayley and Monique to the Peake family this year too. Now, as the pages of 2023 turn into their final chapters, we extend our deepest gratitude. To our clients for their trust, our remarkable team for their unwavering dedication, and their families for the unspoken support that we appreciate more than they know. Cheers to the memories, the milestones, and the magic that awaits in 2024!
